Stretching Before You Run

Ode to the importance of stretching before you run. Some people even do some yoga before they run! Whether it's a quick stretch of the hammies or a full-on yoga session, make sure you have some kind of pre-run exercise before you take off from the starting line.

Below is a graphic I adapted that has 5 great poses for you to do before you start running. Try them out and let me know what you think.

The Costs of Being a Runner

Running is free, right? Not if you're going to take it seriously. From shoes to maraton entry fees, running as a sport can cost some money, especially if you're looking at getting a home treadmill.

The following graphic comes from my latest post, 3 reasons NOT to run on a treadmill.

Goal: 3 Miles in Under 30 Minutes

I had not ran in quite a while. School has had me bogged down to say the least. But I've had a few weeks of break so I've been a little better at hitting the gym. Yesterday was the first time I hopped on the treadmill in over 2 months. And even then I would only run for about 5 minutes then I'd hit the weights.

Well no more. Time to get back into the swing of things.

I really like to run, especially if I've got some good tunes going. I'm a fan of treadmills. Something about running outside that turns me off. But put me on a treadmill and I feel like I can run forever!

Yesterday I gave myself a goal of 3 miles in under 30 minutes. As you can see, I didn't reach that goal but that's okay.

Sometimes we don't reach our goals. And that's okay.

Just exercise. It doesn't matter if it's for 2 hours or 15 minutes. It is still better than laying in bed. You'll be happy you got your crap together and burned some calories.

Next goal: 3 miles in under 30 minutes ;)

Have you achieved all your goals? I hope not. Tell me about some of your failures.
